50 YEARS AGO: FINAL INTERSECTION SURVEY — It probably won’t be long before the intersection pie and multi-sign direction posts in the south part of Cassville will disappear. Over the last two weeks, my wife Jordan and I finally took care of something we’d intended to do months ago — our second round of Back 2 You donations.

2025 ‘Back 2 You’ campaign
Each year, the Cassville Democrat dedicates at least 2 percent of all special project sales to local non-profits. This year, the 2024 total was split evenly between four entities that serve the Cassville and Barry County community

Welcome to Cruise-ville
Burnouts were part of the fun on Saturday at the third annual Cassville Memories Cruise, which saw hundreds of people line and drive Main Street in an ode to days past when cruising back and forth through town provided a source of entertainment. At the event, a vehicle was raffled, and all funds raised benefit scholarship opportunities for local seniors, five of which were awarded this year.

Soroptimists present Ruby Award
Desiree Miller has been selected as this year’s Soroptimist Ruby Award Recipient.

Pullin’ in cash for Keen
Kenneth Eagan, of Washburn, finished in second place in his class at the 3rd Annual Pullin’ for the People. The annual event began in 2023 to benefit Bryson Wilderbruer, who was seriously injured in a vehicle wreck. The 2024 installment benefitted Kuper Tuten, who was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was a year old. This year’s take went to Byron Keen, a local child born with hydrocephalus, a condition which causes fluid to accumulate in the brain.

Victory Baptist awards pair of scholarships
Victory Baptist Church in Cassville recently awarded scholarships to two local graduates. Kinlee Holman, left, is a 2025 graduate of Cassville High School. She is an active member of Corinth Baptist Church and is the daughter of Travis and Tiffany Holman. Dylan Criswell is also a 2025 graduate of Cassville High School.
