40 YEARS AGO: IT TAKES A LOT OF WATER — In these hot and humid days, it takes a lot of water, for people and animals alike. Often the usual watering method isn’t used, especially if your pet is in need of a drink. Brad LeMon, 6, used a hose recently to give his pet Schatze, 7, a refreshing swallow of water. His spectator, Audry Peterson, 2, wasn’t too sure about the process. Brad is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob LeMon and Audry is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson.

10 rods donated for Kids’ Fishing Day
John Harp, of Cassville, has donated 10 new fishing rods and reels to the Roaring River Hatchery for Kids’ Fishing Day.

Highway department crews were busy when this picture was made Tuesday, making the final survey tor plans of intersection improvements.
