Hazel Gripka, left, Cassville resident whose home is in the city park, laughs with former Mayor Bill Shiveley, center, and current Mayor Jon Horner, as Richard Asbill, city administrator in the foreground, explains after ribbon is cut for the 7th Street Bridge, Gripka would be the first to drive over the structure. "No burnouts, Hazel," Asbill said. The new bridge, replacing the old structure washed out in 2017, was built by Hartman and Company at a cost of $738,000.
