Drury announces Spring 2023 Dean’s List

Earning a spot on Drury University's Dean's List is a significant accomplishment. The recognition means a student earned a grade point average of 3.6 or greater (on a 4-point scale) while carrying a full-time course load of 12 or more semester hours at Drury, a top Midwestern university, according to US News & World Report.

Local students earn distinction

Wichita State University has announced the names of 3,273 students who were on the WSU dean's honor roll for spring 2023. To be included on the dean's honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Bright futures receives $966 donation

Roaring River State Park Concessionaires, Jim and Carmen Rogers, have donated $966 to the Cassville R-IV Bright Futures program. The Rogers’ donation reflects the money collected by the sale of children’s trout tags on March 1, Opening Day of Trout Season.

Vigil celebrates Buchman at Roaring River State Park

Jim and Carmen Rogers, owners of Roaring River Concessions, toss flowers into Roaring River in honor of long-time state parks employee Elise Buchman. About 25 people attended a vigil for Buchman, park office administrative assistant, on Sunday, sharing memories, lighting candles and tossing flowers into the river in her honor.

I got in on the slip-n-slide action last week at the Cassville Intermediate School playground. The Cassville Volunteer Fire Protection District hooked up to the hydrant and turned the playground into a sprayground.

Faith James, incoming Cassville senior and prolific wrestling talent, helped Missouri USA Wrestling hoist its first ever national title, for boys or girls, at the 2023 Junior National Duals in Tulsa June 13-17.
