The 37th Annual Veterans Day Program will be held on Tuesday in the Performing Arts Center at Cassville High School at 9 a.m.

Pink Out raises $3K at Southwest
Southwest High School recently held its 16th annual Pink Out event and raised $3,000 for two students battling ailments. The students, Payton Neukam, a high schooler suffering from bone cancer, and Haven Holmes, a middle schooler battling leukemia, were the recipients. A bake sale, loose change drive, a serving contest, pass the hat and general donations throughout the district all helped raise funds. The annual event is organized by Coaches Mandy Henry and Steve Voyak and the Lady Trojans.

The Fall Harvest Festival at Wheaton United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. There will be dinner, a bake sale and a bazaar.

The Show must go on
Cassville’s gala musical production, The Show, will mark its 32nd season this year, and when it debuted in 1992, Cassville residents Mary Beck and Trudy Nickle became two of its staunchest supporters.

51 YEARS AGO: ACTUAL FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING—Using an abandoned building in the Mano community, members of the Eagle Rock Fire Department were extinguishing a blaze when this picture was taken. At the business end of the hose is Cliff Mitchell, while other members watch the action. The training program, including lecture and hands-on fire fighting, was sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension Service and taught by members of the Springfield Fire Department.
