This is a transitional year at Purdy in light of curriculum changes that followed the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Missouri School Improvement Program 6.

Third-grade Mighty Mites runners-up in Tournament of

After placing first in their division, the third-grade Cassville Wildcat Mighty Mite football team finished second at the Tournament of Champions in Harrison, Ark., falling to Seneca in the championship. On Saturday, the team earned a 12-6 win against Carthage, and in the championship on Sunday afternoon, after two lightning delays, the Wildcats suffered a 26-0 loss against the undefeated Indians.

Buttram wins 1st at disc golf fundraiser

Cassville Wildcat Disc Golf Club members participated in the Throw Long, Pink Strong: A Throw Pink Fundraiser in Lowell, Ark., recently. The event was able to raise over $1,500 for Throw Pink and the Pink Fund, and Cassville’s Veronica Buttrum took first place in her division.

Motion to dismiss ‘taken under advisement’ in murder case
Polk County Associate Judge Jill Porter has “taken under advisement” a motion to dismiss charges against Richard Randolph, accused of stabbing Andey Hunter to death in June 2023. Eight days prior to a scheduled case review, Randolph’s attorney, Brian Smith, submitted the motion to dismiss the case with prejudice, claiming violation’s to Randolph’s right to due process.
