Fire & Thunder — literally

The annual Fire & Thunder fireworks show lit up Table Rock Lake and the Shell Knob bridge on Saturday. Views from the lookout point northeast of the show provided a view of the pyrotechnics, as well as hundreds of boats in the water and distant lightning from a line of storms moving into the area. The Shell Knob bridge was closed off during the show, as fireworks exploded above the iconic Barry County structure.

Honors unfurled

The new Hometown Heroes undertaking by the Irwin-Easley American Legion Post No. 118 saw its first major sign of progress on July 1, as 25 banners were presented to veterans, active duty military or their families at the Barry County Courthouse.
