John Randall “Papa Nubs” Harper

John Randall “Papa Nubs” Harper, Sr., 66, of Cassville, Mo. passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at his home.
He was born November 13, 1959 in Ukiah, Calif., the son of Vernon and Opal (Foster) Harper, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his fiancée, Laurie Philbin; brothers, Richard Harper and Robert Harper, and sister, Melody Powers.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Harper of Cassville, Mo. and John Randall “JR” Harper, Jr. of Lookout, Calif.; daughters, Jacqueline “Jackie” McIntire and husband Jeremy of Cassville, Mo. and Brittany Harper and her significant other Brandon Stevens of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Tom Cannon of Marionville, Mo.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He grew up and attended school in Ukiah, Calif. He was employed by an architectural company as a paint line operator until he became disabled in 2005. He moved to Cassville in 2016 and had been in the nursing home since 2019. He was of the Christian faith.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort, Mo.. Pastor Hap Anders will conduct the service.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral home in Cassville.
