5 make honor band
On Jan. 17, 13 Cassville band students in grades 7-8 auditioned for the Southwest Missouri Junior High District Honor Band, with five students earning a spot. The honor band performed Jan. 25 at Neosho High School, with a day of rehearsal ending with a concert.

7 Exeter students make honor bands
Seven Exeter students were selected recently to perform in Southwest Missouri District Honor Band. Biaktha Hnem was selected via audition as second-chair flute in the high school honor band, while Taylor Mattingly was selected as third-chair trumpet in the high school conference band.

23 play in Christmas Recital
A total of 23 local pianists, students of Ruth Burnside, of Purdy, performed a Christmas Recital on Dec. 8 at Countryside Christian Church in Monett.

Skits supplement sounds of the season at Winter Concert
With the guidance of Shane Paul, Santa Claus emerged victorious in the battle with his barbarian son during a skit as part of the Winter Concert on Dec. 7. Santa celebrated his victory with the middle school band members.

Craft show added to music supporting community center The annual Kings Prairie music festival, the fundraiser for the rural community east of Monett, will expand this year for activities on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Trout Fest crowd shows spirit at Sunday South Park concert
Area residents joined in praise through music at Cassville’s South Park on Sunday. Caleb and Kelsey, pictured were the first of three acts to perform, followed by Riley Clemmons, and with Anthem Lights playing as the headliner.
