New view in absence of Hall Theatre

Demolition of the Hall Theatre at the corner of West and Eighth streets, which was destroyed in a March 1, 2022 blaze, has opened up a new view of the courthouse square and idea of what the future may hold for the location. Presently, the city of Cassville, which was allowed to demolish the structure after months of court proceedings, plans to convert the area into a parking lot.

Hall to fall

Nearly two years after being destroyed by a fire, the Hall Theatre’s demolition is imminent. The city of Cassville has been in a legal battle over the building, and Owner Travis James has failed to comply with a court order to demolish the structure, allowing the city legal standing to take it down.

Kyle Troutman: History going down

In the last 30 days, action has been taken and action has been scheduled on two pieces of property in Cassville with historical significance dating back to the 1800s. Within the next few weeks, possibly on the exact two-year anniversary of its demise, demolition will begin on the Hall Theatre property at Eighth and West streets, which was destroyed in a blaze on March 1, 2021.
