Wildcats’ defense mixing it up

SLUDGE plans fundraiser, informational opportunity
With Denali Water Solutions’ operations on hiatus, Vallerie Steele, spokesperson for the citizens group SLUDGE (Stop Land Use Damaging our Ground and Environment), fears that residents are forgetting the unpleasantries and hazards connected with the land-application of meat-processing waste. To bring the issue back to forefront of residents' minds, SLUDGE is hosting a fish-fry fundraiser and informational session on Saturday at 6 p.m. at H & H Pool Hall in Cassville.
Noel man injured in bike wreck
A Noel man was injured in a wreck at 2:57 p.m. on Thursday on Highway 37, one mile south of Cassville.

Meet Maverik! This handsome black and tan beagle/ bloodhound mix needs a home. Maverik is great with children, loves any toy that squeaks, is a great car rider and is accustomed to a leash. He is still young and could benefit from some training, but he does know the commands down, sit and stay. He gets excited to see people and is very loving.

Arning donates $5,000 to golf course
On Flag Day on June 14, Arning hosted the third annual Fred Arning Senior Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament fell just two weeks after the Cassville Golf Club lost over 50 trees during the Memorial Day storm in Cassville. Arning was determined to give back more than the years before. Thanks to every participant and sponsor, Arning was able to achieve this goal. “We are thrilled to announce that the tournament successfully raised $5,000, which has been donated back to the golf course, said Angie Edie, Arning vice president of human resources. “A heartfelt thank you to all the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who helped make the tournament a great success.”
