Cassville Pantry receives Urgent Need Grant from Ozarks Food Harvest
Cassville Pantry recently received an Urgent Need Grant thanks to Ozarks Food Harvest’s $1 million investment in agency infrastructure in southwest Missouri. The grant funding has allowed us to purchase two large capacity chest freezers, which will help sustain our food distributions and feed families in Barry County.

The Cassville High School Wildcat Jazz put on the 4th Annual Bikes, Blues, & BBQ fundraiser on April 5 out in front of the high school. This was just the second year the event featured the “bikes” element added in. The band held a vote to award a People’s Choice Award for the crowd’s favorite motorcycle, and the winner was Derek Cornelius, of Cassville, with his 2009 Harley Heritage Classic. Cornelius, right, won a free table at the 2025 Jazz Night in February 2025 ($100 value) and a small cash prize, presented by Band Booster President Kim Garner.
Speaker encourages students to drive safe
Kurt Lawson, a lawyer from Springfield, spoke to Cassville High School students on April 10 about the dangers of reckless and impaired driving.
Cassville High School’s multimedia students take on tourism challenge
In an effort to boost local tourism beyond the already popular Roaring River State Park, Cassville High School’s Multimedia students recently took on a partnership with Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce.

A fundraiser will be held at BBQ Station in Cassville on April 18 from 4-8 p.m. Barry County probation and parole officers will be working at the restaurant.

The Cassville boys track and field team took second place as a team and the girls took third at the Clever Invitational on April 9.
Wildcats drop a dozen strokes at tourney
The Cassville boys golf team played through chilly and windy weather at its home tournament on Thursday, yet the Wildcats still managed to drop 12 strokes from their previous tournament’s team score. Jay Rogers, Cassville golf coach, said the Wildcats placed 6th out of the 18 schools at the Cassville Tournament, which saw more than 80 individual participants. Freshman Cheney Kelley posted the low score for the Wildcats with an 87, two strokes away from the top 10 finishers.
Special shades for a stellar sight

The Cassville girls track team ran in two meets last week, taking second place as a team in the Monett meet and fifth place in Pea Ridge. Thrower Aaliiyah Franklin showed well in both meets, taking first place in shot put and second in discus in Monett, then swapped results with a first place in discus and second in shot put in Pea Ridge.
