Cassville students dig up plans for their futures

Kyle Troutman: Unboxing a holiday tradition

Holiday traditions are a dime a dozen, but creating new one that stands the test of time is easier said than done — yet, we have a new Black Friday tradition at the Troutman house. We always host Thanksgiving for my mom’s side of the family, as we are the most centrally located between Little Rock, east Oklahoma and southeast Kansas where they all live.

Fall sports conference, district awards doled out

A Cassville athlete has earned the state’s highest sports honor, and many other Wildcat and Lady Wildcats fall sports participants have earned conference and district awards. Emerson Grossman, a senior and three-year starter for the Lady Wildcats volleyball team, was named Class 3 All-State by the Missouri Volleyball Coaches Association.

Mr., Miss Merry Christmas candidates named

The Cassville High School candidates for Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas have been announced. The group will be collecting donations in the community over coming weeks, with proceeds benefitting the Barry County Neighborhood Center’s Share Your Christmas program. The boy and girl who raise the most will be named Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas. Candidates include: front row, from left: freshman Gracie Maher, daughter of Allen and Brooke Maher, of Shell Knob, and Melissa and Jeremy Mansfield, of Cassville; sophomore Tyra Sturgell, daughter of Chad and Shawna Sturgell, of Cassville; senior Emerson Grossman, daughter of Melanie and Randy Grossman, of Cassville; and junior Jayla Cota, granddaughter of Carol Reed and Brent Stumph, of Cassville. Hi, Harrison here! I have some stories to tell. My latest adventure is when I was hanging around the Haven with my travel companion, Hattie. Her and I were scared as we kept dodging cars, coyotes and wandering in the pasture with cows.
