Cassville teen injured in wreck

Vehicle fails to yield on Hwy. 174 near Mt. Vernon

A Cassville teen was injured on Monday in a wreck at 7:25 a.m. on Highway 174, four miles east of Mt. Vernon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 16-year-old female, of Cassville, was driving a 2002 Honda Civic southbound when a westbound 2013 Ford Fusion, being driven by Allison Barker, 23, of Springfield, was making a left turn and failed to yield to the Civic.

The Cassville teen, as well as a 16-year-old female, of Pierce City, and Austin Ritchie, 19, of Aurora, all suffered minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

Barker suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

All four individuals were wearing safety devices. The Civic was totaled, and the Fusion sustained extensive damage.
