The Cassville Rotary Rodeo has earned a distinction among International Professional Rodeo Association Members. Cassville’s rodeo was voted in the Top 5 New Rodeos of the Year.

Land-applications may continue

A Nov. 29 order from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) requiring Denali Water Solutions to immediately stop all land applications and empty its two storage basins in southwest Missouri may be followed, but it may not stop land applications entirely.

Christmas on the Square a holiday hit

4 Cassville wrestlers take first-place medals

The Cassville boys wrestling team earned its first tournament win of the season on its first attempt and for the first time at home. The inaugural Cassville Tournament was held on three mats at the FEMA Event Center and middle school gymnasium on Saturday, with four Wildcats earning first-place medals, another four finishing in second place and one taking third.

Lady ‘Cats show out at home

The Cassville girls wrestling team won its first tournament of the season on Friday, with four Lady Wildcats taking top honors in the inaugural Cassville Tournament at the FEMA Event Center. Kennedy Truman won first place at 120 pounds, Faith James was first at 135 pounds, Hailey Roark took the gold at 140 pounds, and Analeigh Winchell was the winner at 145 pounds.

Dear Editor: With Christmas approaching, I wanted to encourage those who are planning on buying a puppy or a kitten to think of adopting a rescue animal. Our recent experience — and our first with rescue dogs — has made me a big believer in adopting pets that are in shelters.

A new restaurant has opened its doors in Cassville, offering a fare unique to the area — fried chicken and waffles. Reid Dore, co-owner with Cash Watkins, said the idea for Weezer’s Sweet Chicken & Waffles came while they were passing through the city to Roaring River State Park.

Exeter student body invited to help celebrate achievement A star of the Exeter softball team has made her intentions known after she graduates in May, signing to play softball at State Fair Community College in Sedalia. With the whole Exeter student body invited to attend, Crumpler said the signing on Friday was exciting, but also a bit scary.
