School records snapped at sectionals

The Monett 4x400-meter relay team broke the school record from 1971 (3:25.7) and took first place at sectionals, qualifying for state with a time of 3:24.36. The team includes, from left: Kasen Carr, Theo Smith, Braden Crowell and Alex Meeks. Qualifiers for Class 4 2026 Track and Field Championships other than the relay team include: Boys 300-meter hurdles, Theo Smith, 40.01; boys pole vault, Alex Meeks, 4.42m; and girls high jump, Peyton Brandt, 1.59m.

Monett Nazarene Church will host a Bluegrass & Barbecue Fundraiser on Sunday, June 7, from 5-7 p.m. The event features the Flyin’ Buzzards, and proceeds benefit the church’s mission to enhance its worship experience.
