11% vote in April 7 election
A total of 2,701 ballots were cast among 23,810 registered voters in Barry County in the April 7 Municipal Election, which saw mixed results among county and municipal issues.
$15K fireworks show at Trout Fest
Cassville residents can expect a night sky filled with color and sound, as this year’s Trout Fest includes a fireworks celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday on June 5 at the Cassville Aquatic Park.
2 killed in wreck caused by vehicle hydroplaning
Two Barry County residents were killed on Friday in a wreck at 12:45 p.m. on Highway 37, half a mile south of Purdy.
Sales taxes up slightly in March
Sales tax to Barry County cities and county government bodies eked out an overall slight gain in March, with several major gains offsetting several drops, in part due to big jumps in use tax revenues.
Purdy names new high school principal
Purdy will have a new high school principal next year. Stephanie Heman, the former Monett High School principal, has been selected to take over, filling out the administrative team.
