2 killed in wreck caused by vehicle hydroplaning
2 others injured in head-on collision south of Purdy

Two Barry County residents were killed on Friday in a wreck at 12:45 p.m. on Highway 37, half a mile south of Purdy.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 65-year-old female was driving a 2009 GMC Envoy northbound when her vehicle hydroplaned into the southbound lane and the passenger side of her vehicle struck a southbound 2005 Honda CRV, being driven by a 46-year-old female, of Noblesville, Ind.
The Shell Knob female and a passenger in her vehicle, a 41-year-old female, of Exeter, were both pronounced dead at the scene at 1:40 p.m. by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen. They were transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
The Noblesville female and a passenger in her vehicle, a 40-year-old female, from Columbia, each suffered serious injuries and were both taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
All involved were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
These are the 34th and 35th fatalities for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
