Lynn Hilburn: School house memories
This time of year brings memories of the time I spent getting part of my education in elementary country schools back in the 1950s.

Through the Years, Dec. 17
30 YEARS AGO — IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE CHRISTMAS: Area residents woke to snow Tuesday morning, with accumulation ranging from a light dusting in some portions of the county to three inches in others. Area schools were closed because of slick roads, basketball games were canceled and FASCO’s service awards banquet was postponed due to the weather. Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week, Dec. 17
Senior Spotlight: Max West is an animated guy who arrived with his sister, after their lifelong owner passed away. Max is a tan colored labrador and weighs 63 pounds. He can get along with other dogs, but a slow introduction would be important, if not just being the only dog in the home.
