For the 14th year, Drury University in Monett will host its annual Leadership Summit on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Monett City Park Casino at the city’s South Park.

Pop-up food drive held in Monett Sunday
Bradley Bos, left, and Sherry Lingenfelter hosted a pop-up food drive in the Westco parking lot in Monett on Oct. 26. Bos, who is running for Missouri House District 157 on the Democratic ticket, said the food collected will go to Crosslines and others in need. “A lot of people will be facing substantial food insecurity in the coming month with the loss of SNAP benefits in November,” Bos said. “I felt like somebody needed to step up, so some friends and I are organizing food drives like this in an attempt to alleviate some of the hardship.” Lingenfelter knows many people who will be impacted by the loss of food benefits, including her disabled sister.

New Crimestoppers Board officers installed

The 100+Women of Barry and Lawrence Counties will meet on Nov. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library, located at 2200 Park St. in Monett.
