Scott Mitchell: God are you there?

Christians, we are not exempt. We too go through seasons where we feel tired, weary, exhausted, or even broken. These are the times when Christians also start to feel there is nowhere to turn. We can feel alone or like everyone is wanting something from us that we just can’t seem to give them.

News briefs, Nov. 15

A silent auction, consisting of donations from area businesses, will be held on Thursday at the Bayless-Salyer House in Cassville from 5-8 p.m. All proceeds from the fundraiser will support Project Graduation, which gives graduation Cassville High School seniors a safe and fun environment to celebrate their accomplishment as a class.

Goal achieved!

Every summer, prep fall sports teams set their goals for the season, but not many achieve those goals in the same fashion as the Cassville softball team — making history. The Lady Wildcats finished the season at 16-15 and Class 3, District 6 champions after a 7-6 walk-off win over Doniphan.

SLUDGE targets DNR

Before 1972, open dumps were the norm in Missouri. After a two-year survey prior to that time, the state health department determined the dumps, plus authorized land waste-disposal sites, were causing serious threats to human health and the environment.
