County in line for federal disaster declaration
Gov. Mike Parson has requested that President Joe Biden approve a major disaster declaration to provide federal assistance in 33 counties in response to multiple severe weather systems that impacted Missouri from July 29 through Aug. 14.
Lawsuit halts permitting
While Denali Water Solutions and Synagro Central are awaiting a date for judicial review of their suit against the Missouri Fertilizer Control Board for what they allege is the Board’s abrupt change in interpretation of the Missouri Fertilizer Law, a group of residents from Randolph County have filed suit against the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for what they allege is an overstepping of the department’s authority relating to Denali. According to their petition, Citizens of Randolph County Against Pollution (CRAP) allege that the DNR has exceeded its statutory authority by allowing Denali to construct what they say is a “solid waste processing facility” in their county without the permits required by law.

Wastewater project enters new phase
A new phase of the wastewater rehabilitation project began on Friday, with open trench construction in the 1300 Block of Park Avenue. Construction will progress southwest and should advance to Fair Street within 7-10 days.

Construction to block East 13th
East 13th Street near Rocky Edmondson Park will be closed either Wednesday or Thursday due to construction associated with the city of Cassville's sewer project.
