Cassville falls in FutBrawl
Cassville’s Dulce Rivera heads a ball out of danger in a 5-0 loss to Monett on April 18. The Lady Wildcats are 3-10 this season before facing McDonald County on Tuesday. They play at Aurora on Thursday.

April 26, 2023 Water levels are very good as of Sunday, running 70 CFS at the moment. Water conditions are great for dry fly fishing, and nymphing, caddis hatches are occurring every day, Tricos are also coming off every morning for a few hours, and blue wing olives have been very effective every afternoon.
Jobs For Life classes start in May
Acquiring and maintaining meaningful work is one of life's biggest struggles, and Life Change, along with business professionals in the community, aim to help. Beginning May 8, Life Change will offer a class called Jobs For Life.

IT’S REALLY EASY FELLOWS: One lady turkey hunter just can’t understand all the difficulty some of her male counterparts are having bagging a wild turkey during the current season. Mrs.Coleen Yokum of Cassville got her turkey Friday morning and made it back in town in time for a beauty shop appointment. Mrs. Yokum, wife of Forest Ranger Olen Yokum, is pictured above with the trophy bird which weighed 21 pounds and had a 10 inch beard. No, she didn’t take the bird to the House of James with her, Yokum furnished transportation for the bird for the picture.

50-plus attend Narcan awareness meeting
Holly Rivera speaks about stigma at the Narcan awareness meeting held at the Life Change room in the Sho-Me Plaza on Friday. More than 50 people attended the event, hosted by Monett-based Family Advocacy Solutions, which focused on helping area residents overcome addiction and potential opioid overdose.
SKITS play runs this weekend
The Shell Knob In The Spotlight (SKITS) community theater group is performing another engaging comedic play, “Mission Possible,” a theatrical spoof on classic spies of film and television, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A large cast of colorful characters brings to life a funny, inventive group of personalities, including James Blond, Maxwell Sharp, Agent 98.6, Penny Shilling and Kitty Galore, just to name a few, and, of course, the diabolical Silverthumb, arch-villain and the leader of D.O.O.M.
Burglar steals cash from New-To-You-2
New-To-You-2, located on the Cassville downtown square, was burglarized on April 12, according to the Cassville Police Department. According to a Department press release, officers with the Department were dispatched to investigate a burglary at 704 West Street.
News briefs, April 26
A benefit softball game will be held at the Wheaton ballfields on June 24 at noon. Funds raised will benefit Garrett Roller, 12, of Wheaton, who broke both bones in his leg in a UTV accident in October.
