Cassville proposes bond issue for performing arts center
The Cassville Board of Education has approved a resolution proposing a $9 million no-tax-increase bond issue on the April 4, 2023, ballot. The proposition, named Performing Arts and Wildcat Safety (P.A.W.S.) aim to construct, equip and furnish a performing arts center on the high school campus.
Cassville volunteers send Christmas joy overseas
Cassville-area volunteers are celebrating the collection of gift-filled shoeboxes that will send a message to children around the world: “God loves you, and you’re not forgotten.” Thousands of volunteers contributed to Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, by packing shoeboxes filled with fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items. The global Christmas project will deliver these gifts to children in need.

Through the years
Undoubtedly the busiest and possibly most welcome men in Cassville the week following Christmas 1972 were the duo above, Howard Fulton and Coy Cummens as they picked up discarded Christmas trees, gift wrappings and boxes at residents throughout town. Fulton said he estimated that pick-ups were twice as heavy as usual due to the Christmas holiday.

Tigers play in Pierce City Invitational
The Exeter boys basketball team played in the Pierce City Invitational Nov. 28 through Dec. 3, falling to Marshfield in the opening round, 77-44, Verona in the consolation semifinal, 86-73, and Crane in the seventh-place game, 74-66. Nathan Tackett is pictured pulling in a rebound for the Tigers in the game against Verona.

A sea of yellow on the way
The Cassville middle school FFA recently planted 1,000 daffodils at the Cassville Area Chamber Office, made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to the Cassville Community Foundation. The grant was to plant up to 1,000 bulbs, and the Cassville Community Foundation received the full amount, then worked with the Chamber, FFA and Harvick Farms to plant the flowers and complete the landscaping.
