Local podcaster gives deets on jobs
Motivated by an urge to help his sons find suitable career paths, a Cassville man has launched a biweekly podcast focused on jobs. Tim Hendrix, producer of The Jobs Podcast, grew up in the four-state area and went to college in San Diego, met his wife in Colorado and moved to Blue Eye in 2004, then Cassville 6 years ago.
City holds public hearings for 3 grants
The city of Cassville held three consecutive public hearings on Jan. 14, led by representatives of the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG) and necessary to procure funding for three potential projects in the city.

Fluffy snowfall facilitates fun Friday
Beaux Doucet, 6, of Cassville, slid into a pile of snow while playing in the precipitation last week. On Thursday and Friday, cities in Barry County received between 5-8 inches of snow, with Cassville getting 5.5 inches.

The Cassville Firefighter’s Auxiliary has announced the upcoming formation of its organization, dedicated to supporting the Cassville Volunteer Fire Protection District and enhancing the safety and well being of the community.
Cassville seeking input on projects
The City of Cassville, with assistance from the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments, will hold three consecutive public hearings on Tuesday to discuss the city’s submission of applications for the Fiscal Year 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Mitigation (MIT) Program to assist the community in implementation of three potential projects to improve infrastructure and enhance critical facility operations during and after disasters. The meetings will be held at 5 p.m., 5:15 p.m.

Parade lights delight in Wheaton parade
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus threw candy and wished a Merry Christmas to those gathered on Saturday at the Wheaton Christmas parade.

The reason for the season
Through all the commercialism and gift-giving to Santa and elves on shelves, one Cassville woman is hoping to help locals remember the reason for the Christmas season — the birth of Jesus Christ. Wife of Cassville United Methodist Church Pastor Jeff Fugitt, Jamie Fugitt has been collecting Nativity scenes for more than 40 years, and more than 120 unique scenes are on display at the church through Jan.
