30 YEARS AGO: HARLEY THE WOOFER — A roofing project on a Cassville residence this week provided an unusual view of the crew and their “Woofer.” Harley, a seventh month old pit bull, was on the roof at the Beverly Brock home, running around obviously enjoying what he was doing. Harley the “woofer” belongs to Chris Morrow of Eagle Rock.

50 YEARS AGO: DAYLIGHT SUNDAY VIEW OF BURNED SCHOOL — This is the view that attracted hundreds of visitors throughout Sunday. The gutted 51-year-old high school building on the Washburn campus of Southwest schools. Beside the right hand wall are four autos belonging to students on a field trip to St. Louis which were completely destroyed.
