LETTER: Correcting misinformation on jail GED program
Dear Editor: There has been misinformation circulating Barry County concerning the GED program that will be offered at the new county jail. The program will not use any tax dollars.

July 31, 1974 — BARRY COUNTY BANK JOINING BANCSHARES For the second time in 60 days, a Cassville bank has announced plans of affiliation with a multibank holding company. Barry County Bank, chartered in January of 1887, announced signing an affiliation agreement with Commerce Bancshares, Inc.
Police detail tractor pull incident
A local man is charged with two misdemeanors and was placed on a 12-hour hold then 96-hour hold after allegedly causing a disturbance at the tractor pull in Cassville on July 6 and subsequently assaulting a police officer. Tanner Williams, of Cassville, is charged with misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Life Change celebrates 3rd year in Cassville

Sheriff candidates share plans, goals at forum
The remaining three candidates for Barry County sheriff stood side by side on Friday at the Cassville FEMA Event Center, answering questions in a forum in front of a live crowd of about 125. Attending the event were, in order of filing: Randy Kalbaugh, current Stone County deputy; James Morgan, current captain of criminal investigations division at the Delaware County Sheriff's Office; and Danny Boyd, current sheriff.
