LETTER: Cheers and jeers
As many of you know, I lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for a little over 30 years, and I did take the daily newspaper, Fort Worth Star Telegram. Once a week, they had a section in the paper for their letter writers called “Cheers and Jeers.

30 YEARS AGO: CHS PROGRESS REPORT — Construction continues on Cassville’s new $4 million plus high school. According to the last school board reports, the project is two months ahead of schedule. Completion date is still June 1, 1995. The majority of the exterior work on the building has been completed. Interior finishing work has begun, and three of four sections of the metal roof have been installed.
Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week
Adorable little Frankie and his sister, Gladys, were found dumped on a road before coming to the Haven. They are believed to be Australian Shepherd mixed breed. Estimated date of birth is Aug. 8.
OACAC receives $80K for disaster relief in Barry County
Following a major disaster declaration, Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) has received $80,000 in disaster relief funding from Missouri Housing Development Commission. These funds are to assist low-income Barry County residents who sustained damage to their homes from severe weather systems that generated tornadoes, high winds, and flooding between May 19 May 27.

SKITS performing first musical
Spooky sights and wild frights abound this Halloween season, and nowhere moreso than in Shell Knob. Shell Knob in the Spotlight (SKITS) will put on its fall play, 'Scary, Scary Night,' on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Local students harvest knowledge through Agriculture Education on the Move
This fall, third grade classrooms across Missouri — including at Exeter and Southwest — are harvesting knowledge as students participate in Agriculture Education on the Move (Ag Moves). Through this initiative of Missouri Farmers Care, students discover how their lives are intertwined with agriculture through hands-on learning led by passionate educators in their classrooms.
15 years of finding footing

Pink Out celebrates quindecennial
