Meet Squeak! She is likely a boxer/redbone coonhound mix. Date of birth is June 23. Squeak and her three siblings haven’t had a lot of love and attention that they should have as babies but are sweet, adorable pups who are waiting at the Haven for their special family.

With a countywide burn ban still active, firefighters in the area have been especially busy recently, including battling a pair of blazes in Cassville on Friday and Sunday. According to Derek Acheson, Cassville Volunteer Fire Protection District (CFD) chief, crews from Cassville, Washburn and Exeter were paged at 4:59 p.m.

Through the Years, Oct. 23
30 YEARS AGO: CHS PROGRESS REPORT — Construction continues on Cassville’s new $4 million plus high school. According to the last school board reports, the project is two months ahead of schedule. Completion date is still June 1, 1995. The majority of the exterior work on the building has been completed. Interior finishing work has begun, and three of four sections of the metal roof have been installed.

Adorable little Frankie and his sister, Gladys, were found dumped on a road before coming to the Haven. They are believed to be Australian Shepherd mixed breed. Estimated date of birth is Aug. 8.
OACAC receives $80K for disaster relief in Barry County
Following a major disaster declaration, Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) has received $80,000 in disaster relief funding from Missouri Housing Development Commission. These funds are to assist low-income Barry County residents who sustained damage to their homes from severe weather systems that generated tornadoes, high winds, and flooding between May 19 May 27.
