Raymond Bradley “Brad” Bowen, 67, of Cassville, Mo. passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at his home. He was born May 7, 1956, in Ukiah, Calif. the son of Harold and Shannon (Wills) Bowen, who preceded him in death.

Plucky Purdy pushes for wins

Purdy volleyball senior Rylee Stanford was in fourth grade the last time the Lady Eagles won a district title, and she and new Head coach Barry Wheeler aim to lead Purdy back to postseason glory and revive a program that has not had a winning season since 2015. It’s electric!

The Cassville school district and Environmental Protection Agency joined on Thursday to celebrate a $1.9 million investment at the district — five new electric school buses paid for entirely by the Clean School Bus Rebate Program. Merlyn Johnson, Cassville superintendent, said the buses have been in service for the last few weeks, receiving rave reviews from riders and athletic teams that have used them.

Purdy volleyball coach Barry Wheeler reached his 500th win last week with a 2-0 (2519, 25-19) victory over Exeter on Saturday in the Thomas Jefferson Invitational. The Lady Eagles went 2-2 at the tournament and have an overall record of 3-8-2 this season.
