There’s only a few places in this town a fish can relax, and I was enjoying the last days of the Aquatic Center being open when WHAM — this Piebald Great Dane named Sammy splashed me. Then, he stuck his tongue out at me, as evidenced in this photo. Before I knew it, all Sammy’s firends showed up and there was more splashing than toddlers at bathtime. Toys were flying eveywhere, all kinds of breeds were chasing one another and even the humans were “in the way” of the fun at times. By the end, I’ve never seen soo many doggos so happy and yet so tired. I say throw a bone to the YMCA for hosting a Doggie Swim Day every year!
Wildcats revel in Week 2 win

The Cassville football team (1-1) went from being mercy ruled by a district champion in Week 1 to beating a district champion in Week 2, earning a 20-7 victory over McDonald County at home on Friday. Clay Weldy, Wildcats football coach, said the team had three main goals leading up to the contest.

Sara Jane (Poetker) Schad, 49, of Purdy, Missouri was called home to Heaven after suffering a short illness. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 1, 1975; the daughter of Larry and Barbara (Talken) Poetker and birth mother Julie Poe. She was united in marriage on October 9, 1999 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City, Missouri to Gary Schad; he survives.
