Lake lights up under Fire and Thunder
The CCC Camp in Shell Knob provided a picturesque line of sight for the Shell Knob Fire and Thunder fireworks show on Friday at the Highway 39 bridge over Table Rock Lake. The Shell Knob Area Chamber of Commerce funds the annual display.

50 YEARS AGO: NO MORE FOR THIS YEAR — The fescue seed harvest in Barry County is over. No more will this scene, augering seed from a combine into a truck be repeated for real in 1975. Growers and buyers agree this year, while not the best season on record, produced about a 70% crop for the area. High quality seed also saw the price increase twice since the start four weeks ago. Closing seed prices were 14 cents in this area. In the photo above, during the closing days of the harvest, Nolan McNeill, a custom harvester is pictured on his combine, as son, Nolan IlI, waits for the emptying process before driving the seed to a market location.
