Annual Open House draws book lovers to Library
The Cassville Branch Library hosted its annual Open House on Saturday, inviting the public to visit the Library for free cookies, face painting, games and reading.

30 YEARS AGO: BALLOON GLOW — Over 2,000 attended Friday night’s balloon glow at the FASCO rounds. A horn blew and the pilots would blast not air into the balloons. The propane flame lit up the balloons against the night sky. The three hot air balloon races held on Saturday and Sunday also drew big crowds. Rides in the balloons seemed to be the coveted prize to win during weekend giveaways. People also had the opportunity to view the balloons up close and meet the pilots.

Roaring River looks very good right now, running at 53 CFS. This is fantastic. We really needed this kind of water. The dry fly fishing has become very good. With the hot, dry weather, we are now having a bit of rain here and there, but that doesn’t hurt anything.
