Police converge on home after suspect flees
Two Cassville residents were arrested on Monday morning after one allegedly fled from Cassville police for the second time in two days.

A suggestion was submitted to the Cassville Democrat email the other day from a person in the community: “Have you ever thought of changing your name? I would think that your circulation would increase. I would love to subscribe but could not stand to have anything called Democrat in my house. I would certainly subscribe to the Cassville Gazette. There must be others like me.”

40 YEARS AGO: SOLVING DOG DAYS — Kate, an English setter naturally, solves the problem of Dog Days of August, with a leisurely cooling in her master’s swimming pool. One of the more fortunate types, she enjoys an almost daily swim around the pool, but for this photo she chose to relax on an air mattress. Public use facilities on Table Rock Lake are reported in the heavy use category with continued hot, muggy weather in early August. Area streams also are getting their share of attention as summer nears an end.
