Multi-sport athlete Brendyn Paulsen, a senior at Southwest High School, narrowed his future focus on Friday, signing to play baseball at the next level with Mission University in Springfield. Paulsen, who is in the midst of district tournament basketball this week and has his senior season of baseball just around the corner, said putting his name down was a dream come true.

A new Cassville Wrestling Booster Club has made its first donation to the program.
Hall to fall
Nearly two years after being destroyed by a fire, the Hall Theatre’s demolition is imminent. The city of Cassville has been in a legal battle over the building, and Owner Travis James has failed to comply with a court order to demolish the structure, allowing the city legal standing to take it down.

Cassville powerhouse being demolished
A last remnant of Cassville’s railroad is undergoing demolition. Jim Hiers and his wife, Lora, who own and operate Special Enterprises, an excavation business based in Cape Fair, submitted the winning bid of $68,800 to the City of Cassville to tear down the long-abandoned, derelict structure at the corner of East and 9th Streets.
Admin charged with theft from facility
A Carl Junction woman is facing four total charges for allegedly misusing a company credit card belonging to a Barry County facility. Christine Grizzle, 39, of Carl Junction, is charged with one count of felony stealing, two counts of misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card device and one count of misdemeanor stealing.
