The Cassville girls soccer team (3-2) won one and lost one over the weekend at the Greenwood Classic. The Lady Wildcats fell to West Plains, 3-0, then bounced back with a 1-0 win over Aurora.

Conference champ Exeter reloads on diamond
The Exeter baseball team won its second straight conference title last year, and after falling in the district title game, the Tigers are hungry for a longer season. Matt Tripp, Exeter baseball coach, said his team took a 2-0 lead into the 7th inning of the title bout, ultimately falling in extra innings, 4-3.
Lady Trojans bring back experience
With six seniors and seven returning starters, the Southwest softball team is hoping to use maturity and experience to find success under a a first-year head coach this season. Emily Snyder, Southwest softball coach, said 10 total letterwinners return to the squad this season, and she is excited to get her first head coaching season going.
Barry County man pleads to meth distribution
A rural Aurora man has pleaded guilty in federal court to three charges relating to a year-and-a-half of methamphetamine distribution in Barry County. In the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, Brian Hall, 45, of Aurora, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit money laundering and possession of a firearm.

State Rep. Scott Cupps, R-Shell Knob, said the poultry- processing wastewater residuals being land-applied in southwest Missouri by Denali and Synagro can be a beneficial soil amendment.
