An annual fall tradition in Cassville for 29 years, The Show will see 21 participants singe 24 songs this year, all backed up by locals in the Hometown Sound and the Red Hots band. Greg Beck, speaking on behalf of The Show’s participants, said the theme for this year is “Sampler.” “There is such a wide mix of music this year,” he said.

Tragedy at Roaring River State Park
KISS Rebreathers divers gathered at Roaring River Spring Friday morning for what was meant to be a day of preparation for the team’s planned second record-breaking dive into Roaring River Cave on Saturday. Instead, the day turned tragic when, shortly after submerging, 27-year-old Eric Hahn, of Blacksburg, Va., suffered from what appeared to be the effects of oxygen toxicity.

Wildcats battle in Lamar loss
The Wildcats gave a full effort on Friday against a stout Lamar foe, falling 41-13. The Wildcats put up a defensive stand on Lamar’s first drive, forcing a fourth-and-11, but the Tigers’ quarterback scrambled 30 yards to the 6 and scored on the next play.
Cassville dentist dies in ATV wreck
A Kimberling City man who practiced dentistry in Cassville died in a wreck at 7:55 p.m. on Oct. 8 on Joe Bald Road, two miles southwest of Kimberling City.

Getting back to the basics was the ticket to success for Cassville last week, and the Wildcats are hoping to take some confidence and momentum from a 45-0 win over Springfield Catholic back home for Senior nigh and a matchup with Lamar.
