A man who allegedly killed an illegal immigrant living in Monett was arrested and charged with second degree murder by Barry County Prosecutor Johnnie Cox on Monday. Butterfield street project will be delayed (06/26/08)
Although Butterfield residents approved a $200,000 general bond issue on April 8, the city's street improvement project may not begin until sometime next year. Last month, Algeier, Martin and Associates, of Joplin, completed a cost estimate for the street improvement project. The company determined that the project will cost the city over $500,000. CFPD responds to fire call at new CIS building (06/26/08)
Last Thursday, the Cassville Fire Protection District responded to a report of a possible fire at the Cassville Intermediate School, which was completed in March of this year. When firefighters arrived at the school at 3:15 p.m. they found smoke coming from a maintenance room where a breaker box had shorted out resulting in an explosion.
