Agriculture education impacts Cassville intermediate this summer
Eighty-five students at Cassville Intermediate participated in hands-on lessons about agriculture during enrichment programming this summer with Agriculture Education on the Move (Ag Moves). Cassville Intermediate partnered with Ag Moves to provide elementary students with 10 foundational lessons on the topics of agriculture.

As I enter my 19th year in education, I have experienced a number of shifts in the profession which include new strategies, new requirements, and new evidence to study. The most recent literacy education approach adapts learning strategies to align to the science of reading.
Home school co-op celebrates first semester
The SHINE Ozarks Co-op held its open house and end of semester celebration on May 21st. The group, comprised of mainly Barry County residents, has 25 families enrolled and held its first semester in the spring. Five local homeschool mothers started the co-op to give families the opportunity for community while homeschooling. The group thanks First Baptist Church in Cassville and Washburn First Baptist Church for facility use. MU Extension to showcase warm season grasses
University of Missouri Extension will hold a farm tour to highlight three successful farm operations that use warm season grasses in their forage program. The tours will occur in Barry County starting at 4 p.m.

Purdy focus on Annual Performance Report fruitful
When the Purdy school district received its first Annual Performance Review (APR) based on the Missouri School Improvement Plan 6 (MSIP6) in 2022, one thing was clear — there was work to be done. Travis Graham, Purdy superintendent, said the district was disappointed in its score of 70.3 percent, and improvements mainly needed to be made in English language arts, math and science.
Mark Elliott returns to Wildcat Nation as assistant principal
A former teacher and coach at Cassville Middle School is returning to the district after two years at East Newton. After five years of service to the Cassville school district, at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year, Mark Elliott departed from Wildcat Nation to launch his career in educational administration at East Newton.
