  • * Train-pickup collision sends teen to hospital (Local News ~ 01/19/18)
    A collision between a 1995 Chevrolet pickup and a southbound Arkansas-Missouri freight train at 12:57 p.m. on Friday at the Washington Street crossing in Purdy sent the pickup driver to a Springfield hospital. According to Purdy Police Chief Jackie Lowe, the 18-year-old driver was eastbound on Washington when he failed to yield for the train, which had nearly reached the crossing.
