31st Annual Share a Heart Campaign kicks off

Starting today (Wednesday), 70 McDonald’s Restaurants in the Ozarks — including Cassville — will begin encouraging customers to support Springfield’s two Ronald McDonald Houses by donating $1, $5 or $20 and adopting a heart. With every heart adopted, the contributor will have an opportunity to enter a social media contest holding their signed heart with the message “I shared my heart #forRMHCozarks” for a chance to win one of four $250 Great Southern MasterCard gift cards.

Duane Latta passed from this life and into the arms of Jesus on January 21, 2024, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri. Duane John Latta, 86, was born January 26, 1937 in Harper, Kansas to Frank Milton Latta and Verna Ruth (Wuthnow) Latta.

Bob Mitchell passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on November 7, 2023, at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. He was 94.

Next-level decision made; Keeven signs for volleyball

Another Cassville volleyball senior has signed a national letter of intent, committing to continue playing her sport at the college level in the fall. On Jan. 24, Josie Keeven, Cassville libero and defensive specialist, signed to Missouri Valley College in Marshfield after initially choosing forgo volleyball after high school.
