Charles “Leo” Catron

Charles “Leo” Catron of Cave Springs passed away September 2, 2023, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Leo was born September 6, 1935, in Cassville, Missouri to Charles Perry Catron and Lois Erwin Catron. He was raised in the Antioch Community and in his early years was involved in 4-H and FFA. Leo served in the United States Marines serving mainly in Okinawa as a radio operator.

It has been six years since the Cassville volleyball program turned in an above .500 season, and it will be seven seniors on this year’s squad aiming to put their names in the record books. The Lady Wildcats’ season began on Aug.

Cassville grad awarded Russ Melton scholarship

Peter Littlefield, a 2023 graduate of Cassville High School, has received the Russ Melton Scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The son of John and Sheila Littlefield, Peter Littlefield is attending Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College this fall, where he plans to study animal science.
