Corporal punishment policies vary locally
The Cassville school district’s revival of corporal punishment by paddle has sparked international reaction, but corporal punishment in Missouri — especially in Barry County and southern Lawrence County — is more often authorized than prohibited. In the eight local districts covered by CherryRoad Media newspapers, five, now including Cassville, have policies that allow for corporal punishment.

September is National Hunger Action Month, and there has never been a more critical time to advocate for the persons across the nation and within the Cassville community who are struggling with the issue of food insecurity.
Local districts see small decrease in first day numbers
Once again, students showed up for the first day of school last week. New shoes, backpacks and even some new faces filled the halls and classrooms as students were welcomed by teachers and staff for the 2022-2023 school year.

Returning to accomplish that goal will be seven Lady Wildcats, including All-Conference junior Emerson Grossman, one senior and five juniors.
