Cassville Democrat wins 22 statewide awards

The Cassville Democrat newspaper won 22 total awards, including nine firstplace honors, at the Missouri Newspaper Association’s Better Newspaper Contest Lunch on Saturday at the Lodge of the Four Season in Osage Beach. Two of the newspaper’s supplemental publications, Trout Times and Connection magazine, both won first place in their respective categories, and the Democrat’s website and sports pages also received top honors.

From struggle to success

David Williams, Success Program coordinator, knows there’s a stigma regarding alternative high schools, but in Cassville, it could not be further form the truth. Now with two active programs, the Success Lab and the Success Academy, the Success Program at Cassville aims to provide students that have fallen behind in classes, for one reason or another, the opportunity to catch up and graduate on time.

With the revelations coming out of Roaring River these days, another door has been opened for the state park that will only add another attraction in luring more visitors to the facility that continues to lead Missouri’s park system in popularity.
