Praise given at Frontier Days

50 YEARS AGO: ELEPHANT RIDE AT CIRCUS — Despite constant rain showers Sunday, Cassville Lions Club officials estimated over 1,600 persons attended two performances of the Al Kelley Circus here. Jack Chansley, president, and Phil Hutchens, secretary, said the club was even successful in parking cars on the American Legion Grounds in such a manner that none got stuck.

Southwest Volleyball to Host Pink Out, Senior Night

The Southwest High School volleyball team has three important dates to celebrate in October. On Oct. 9, Purdy will visit the Lady Trojans for Pink Out 2025. This is the 16th consecutive year the school has hosted a breast cancer awareness event. The team has theme days planned all week and fundraisers for two students, Payton Neukam and Haven Holmes. There will be a bake sale, coin collection, 50/50 raffle and serving contests to raise money.
