The Southwest middle school track and field teams turned in a season to be remembered this spring.

The Cassville 4x100 relay team has qualified to the Class 3 State Championship. The team of Mace Bredeson, Kyle Bailey, Kamden Beebe and Jacob Walker turned in a time of 43.82 to take 4th place at the Class 3, Sectional 3 on Saturday.

Ean Timothy Heuback, age 14, from Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Table Rock Lake. Ean was born on October 7, 2010, to Bill and Casey (Woods) Heuback in Monett, Missouri. He had just celebrated his graduation from 8th grade and was excited to start high school as a freshman at Blue Eye High School in Blue Eye, Missouri.

30 YEARS AGO: Breaking ground for the original plant of 150,000 square feet came on a late summer day in a former hay field. I realize that Emory Melton and others have done an excellent job of laying out of the history and development of Barry County, but I would like to provide a summary what I think is interesting and important.
