Getting the lead out
Cassville awards bid to begin water line inventory The city of Cassville has awarded a contact to begin a pipe inventory, aiming to identify and replace any lead pipes within the city. The inventory project — which involves teamwork on federal, state and local levels — has been awarded to All Clear Pumping and Sewer, based in Centertown.

Paulsen wins 4th-ever All-State award for Trojans basketball
Southwest High School senior Brendyn Paulsen has been named to the Class 3 All-State Team. A First Team All-District, All-Conference and All-Area selection, as well as district and conference Player of the Year, Paulsen averaged 18.9 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game this year.

As someone who studied religion in a state university, I am accustomed to hearing a wide variety of criticisms of Christians and Christianity. Many of those criticisms have been well deserved by Christians, and some of the disagreements are understandable differences of perspective.

Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week, March 20
Fiber deserves a home! He has been in shelter for over 765 days. Fiber is a handsome, playful dog who came to the Haven from the city of Monett after being abandoned. Fiber is a happy, loyal guy, whose favorite games are fetch and tug-of-war. He does a good job on walks but does pull a bit, so between that, his slightly-sassy attitude, and his energy levels, the Haven thinks he’d do best in a home with older kids. He might take some time to warm up to the men in his new family, but this good boy will do literally anything for bacon. He doesn’t get along with cats and will need to meet any potential dog siblings before he goes home. He is a lab/pit bull terrier mix born May 12, 2021. Most residents and vacationers in the Ozarks region are familiar with the story of Jean Wallace, the clairvoyant recluse living in her Roaring River cabin in the hills south of Cassville until its destruction by fire in 1940, claiming the life of the Mountain Maid of Roaring River.
