Donation to fund cheer safety mats
Security Bank of Southwest Missouri has made a $500 contribution to the Cassville High School cheerleading team. The funds will be used to purchase additional safety mats to be used when the cheer team is practicing and executing lifting stunts and tumbling passes during games and at cheerleading competitions. Easter Egg Hunt Winners!
An Easter Egg Hunt was staged at six local businesses in the two weeks leading up to April 9, with three of the six eggs found by readers. The Grand Prize winner for the Cassville Democrat’s Easter Egg Hunt was Bavette Battern, above, who found the egg at Front Street Furniture Gallery in Exeter. On Tuesday, Battern accepted her prize of $25 in Cassville Cash and an Easter lily. Winners in each business included: top left, Rhett Artherton and Reese Artherton, children of Robbie and Mindi Artherton found the egg at Tomblin’s Jewelry; middle left, Bavette Battern found the egg at Front Street Furniture Gallery; and bottom left, Elmore found the egg at New-To-You-2.

Art in the Ozarks
The judged artwork of students in the Ozark 7 Conference is on display at the Barry County Museum in Cassville through April 22. Student entries were submitted in a range of mediums, and included, among others, wearable art, chalk pastels, graphite, mixed media, color ink, black ink and charcoal. This

Coach V reaches 500 wins
Purdy and Cassville softball coach Lori Videmschek earned her 500th career high school softball coaching win, defeating Crane 11-1 on April 4. Videmschek was also inducted into the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame this year.
