Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women, but over the years, more and more women are fighting and surviving the disease. Gayle Daniels, a 64-year-old woman living in Exeter, was first diagnosed in February 2014 — with no family history of the disease.

Southwest senior night on Oct. 18
The Southwest volleyball team will celebrate Volleyball Senior Night on Oct. 18 against Exeter. Games will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the junior varsity, followed by the varsity.

A victory at home
The Cassville cross country teams know their course well, as the Lady Wildcats took home a first place team trophy at the Cassville High School Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 4, and the boys finished in second.
