Chamber hosts ribbon cuttings for area businesses

We closed out the 2021-2022 school year on Thursday, May 19. It’s hard to believe this school year has already ended.

Back in the days of washboards and wringer washers Monday washdays were not as quick or convenient as they are today, with computer-driven appliances such as the washers and dryers on the market these days.

March food service report released
The Health Department divides food service code violations into two categories; Priority and Core items. Priority items are more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, or illness and/or injury.

Through the Years
50 years ago June 7, 1972 Four members of Cassville Future Farmers of America and their advisor John Ferguson will be going to our nation’s capitol this month to attend the FFA Leadership Conference. Members going are Mike Purdom, Max Henbest, Lynn Moore and Donald Cupps.

Lady Wildcats continue building
The Cassville girls soccer team nearly doubled its win total from the 2021 season, but a firstround district exit left the Lady Wildcats at 9 wins. Jake Forste, Cassville soccer coach, said the mantra of the season was team-wide improvement, and that occurred.

3 Cassville events medal at state
The Cassville boys and girls track and field teams took a total of 13 athletes to the Class 3 State Championship Friday and Saturday, and six returned with All-State honors. Bradan Dickinson led the field with a third-place finish in shot put, throwing for 16.44 meters (53-11.25) to set a new school record.
Purdy prepares for summer
As the school year came to a close last week, the Purdy School Board recapped the year’s successes and plans for the future. With the passage of the district’s to tax increase bond measure, school grounds will be buzzing with activity throughout the summer, with plans to improve the school entry ways with duel entry points to improve school safety, upgrades to the school’s kitchen and cafeteria, new pavement and more.
