Junior firefighters raise funds for peer (03/29/07)
The Eagle Rock-Golden-Mano Fire Protection District junior firefighters raised $5,023 for Tim Moore, of Golden, who is currently battling cancer, through a special fundraiser that was held on Feb. 17. "This effort started before Christmas and continued," said Donna Lunsford, who helped the junior firefighters organize the fundraising event. "This shows great perseverance on our kids' part. On Tuesday, voters will have the chance to re-instate a tax that Barry County officials say will level the playing field between local and out-of-state businesses while providing the county with additional revenue for law enforcement and roads.
