Young Trojans find ways to grow
The Southwest boys basketball team turned in an 8-17 record this season, and when considering their youth and the progress made, Coach Jeff Treat graded the campaign at a B+.

With multiple returning starters, the Cassville baseball team this spring is going through a philosophy change, shifting to put greater emphasis on the process as the season gets underway.

Cassville anglers 3rd in tourney
Cassville Fishing Club members Deagan Gross and Colton Yockey competed in the third and final qualifier of the Missouri B.A.S.S. Nation Youth Tournament held March 15 at Pomme de Terre Lake.

Weldy wins state title
Brynn Weldy, wrestler in the Wildcat Takedown Club, wrapped up her season by placing first in the state in the 10U 80-pound girls division. She pinned all four of her opponents with a total mat time of just under 6 minutes, and not a single point was scored on her during the entire tournament.

Experience gained and improvements made over the course of the season have the Wheaton basketball program looking forward with confidence.

The Cassville girls soccer team enters the 2026 season with a strong returning core, aiming to flip its offensive script from a team that went 6-10-2 while scoring 12 total goals last season.

7th-graders take Big 8 crown
The Cassville Middle School seventh-grade basketball team put together a championship run in the Big 8 Tournament, defeating Monett, 47-10; Mt. Vernon, 39-12; and McDonald County, 38-32 to finish the tournament 3-0 and win the title.
